Overview of work
The Link Community Hub is a community lifeline, offering support, education, activities, and advice for those in need. The Link’s volunteers and social workers provide regular support groups, youth groups, drop-ins, advice sessions, food bank and outreach work. Located in the middle of the Stradbroke estate in the East of Sheffield, The Link Community Hub has been supporting people who are disadvantaged due to poverty, deprivation, and circumstances since 2013.
Work with CSJ
Since becoming an Alliance charity, the Link Community Hub has been involved with the CSJ’s research into illegal money lending. During research for the paper Swimming with Sharks, CSJ researchers visited the Link to speak to victims of illegal lending, and see how compounding difficulties that lead to vicious cycles of borrowing play out on the Stradbrook estate. Helen was interviewed on GB News for the launch of the CSJ’s report on illegal money lending, and was a guest on the CSJ’s Beyond Westminster Podcast on the same topic.
