The CSJ has announced the highly anticipated finalists for the prestigious CSJ Awards 2024.
From a pool of 30 applications invited by the CSJ Foundation from its alliance of over 700 grassroots charities, 12 exceptional charities and social enterprises have been chosen as finalists. These organisations are recognised for their remarkable efforts in tackling a range of challenging social issues. The CSJ team visited each finalist to witness their transformative impact firsthand and to understand how greater policy influence could advance their missions.
Out of these 12 finalists, four winners will be selected for the CSJ Awards 2024, each receiving a prize of £20,000 to support their outstanding contributions to social change. The winners will be announced on November 19th marked by a momentous occasion celebrating these exceptional charities for their dedication, innovation, and positive impact on communities across the country.
The 12 finalists for the CSJ Awards 2024:
1. Boathouse Youth: The Boathouse Youth is a Children’s Charity based in Blackpool that provides positive recreational and educational activities for children and young people Aged 5 – 17.
2. Family Toolbox Alliance (Koala North West ): Koala North West provides emotional and practical support to families, aiming to
strengthen and expand their social support networks.
3. Grace Foundation: Grace Foundation was born with a vision to transform young people’s lives through holistic education.
4. Zink: Zink aims to prevent and relieve poverty in Derbyshire’s High Peak Borough Council area by operating a food bank and providing wellbeing activities for mental health.
5. Focus 4 Hope: Focus4Hope is a charity that provides support for the elderly, homeless, isolated, and otherwise vulnerable in West Yorkshire.
6. The Hinge Centre: Hinge Centre, located on the Havenfield Estate in Bridlington, provides benefits and welfare advice, resettlement support, independent living skills, and a variety of activities for children, young people, and the wider local community.
7. One Eighty: One-Eighty supports families, schools, and local authorities in engaging young people in mainstream education through curriculum-based activities, mentoring, and enhancing existing services to create sustainable, holistic plans.
8. Back on The Map: Back on the Map fosters social, physical, and economic development in Hendon through initiatives in employment, education, housing, recreation, environment, health, safety, and crime prevention.
9. Clean Slate Solutions: Clean slate solutions support people across Teesside and North Yorkshire with a past conviction into paid employment.
10. WeMindTheGap: WeMindTheGap bridges the gap between young people aged 16 -25 yrs, disadvantaged by their circumstances, and the wider community of workplace, education and support improving the life chances of a generation.
11. Street Connect: Street Connect offers hope and life transformation for individuals struggling with addiction, homelessness, and poor mental health.
12. New Beginnings Foundation CIO: The New Beginnings Foundation provides intensive support to parents whose
children are subject to Children’s Social Care intervention.
The CSJ Awards 2024 finalists represent an inspiring group of charities making a tangible difference in their communities. Their transformative initiatives display the power of compassion, innovation, and community engagement in addressing pressing social challenges.
