Hampshire suicide prevention charity R;pple has won a CSJ Award. Founded by Alice Hendy MBE in memory of her brother Josh, R;pple has developed a browser tool that detects harmful online searches linked to suicide and self-harm and directs people to support instead.
The tool has been downloaded more than two million times, and the charity has verified at least 32 cases of people saying it helped them through a crisis. Its £40,000 prize will go towards developing its AI capabilities so it can reach people earlier.
