Wrexham charity WeMindTheGap, which supports young people aged 11–25 who have fallen through the gaps, has won a CSJ Award in its tenth anniversary year. Across five connected programmes it works with more than 150 young people every week, many of them not in education, employment or training, guiding them from school through to work and community life.
The judges praised its “village mindset” and whole-journey approach. Thanks to a late surge in donations, each winner’s prize was doubled to £40,000, which WeMindTheGap will put towards its Power of 10,000 Connections ambition. Kawika Solidum, Head of Partnerships at the CSJ Foundation, highlighted how closely the charity works with local schools and employers to help young people make the move into work.
